- What
does it take to
get started building
a new home?
How
long does it take
to build a home?
About 4 to 5 months.
Many factors including
the weather, contractor’s
schedules, and material
availability affect
the length of time
it will take to
build your home.
See our 10
Steps to Building
Your Home.
Do
you have homes available
for immediate move
in?
Generally, we have
a few homes for
sale that are either
under construction
or already completed.
See
our Featured Homes.
Can
I make changes to
one of your floor
plans, like moving
a wall or adding
square footage?
Maybe. We will consider
requests on a case-by-case
basis. Any change
we make must be
structurally sound,
economically feasible,
and aesthetically
acceptable.
Will
I have to drive
all over town to
your suppliers to
pick out my paint,
carpet, and other
selections?
No, we think that
is an inconvenience
for homebuyers.
We have a wide array
of selections available
for viewing at our
Model
Home.
Some
builders offer very
limited choices
when it comes to
paint, carpet, and
other selections.
How much of a choice
will I have at Lindale
Homes?
Our Model
Home selection
room is well stocked
and constantly updated
with the most popular
materials, colors,
and styles available.
Lindale Homes offers
more choices than
most of our competitors
who build homes
in the same price
range. We have literally
dozens of bricks,
carpets, countertops,
and floor tiles
to choose from.
Can
I change something
about my home once
you have started
building?
Our building process
is designed to help
homebuyers determine
their needs and
explore the possibilities
available to them
before we begin
construction. This
system minimizes
the need for “Change
Orders” or
making changes once
construction has
begun. However,
if it is not cost
prohibitive, we
will consider requests
to make changes
once the home is
underway. Consult
our Lindale
Homes Sales Associate
for our current
“Change Order”
policy.
What
is Lindale Homes’
new home warranty?
All homebuilders
in Texas are now
required by the
Texas Residential
Construction Commission
to provide a 2-year
mechanical warranty
and a 10-year limited,
structural warranty.
The mechanical warranty
covers all electrical,
plumbing, HVA/C,
and other mechanical
systems in the home
for the first two
years. In addition,
Lindale Homes provides
a 1-year warranty
on all workmanship
and materials throughout
the home. Our warranty
is backed by Bonded
Builders Warranty
Group, a third
party warranty administrator.
What
assurances do I
have that I am getting
a well built home?
There are many checkpoints
that our homes have
to pass to ensure
top-notch quality.
Our reputation is
your greatest assurance
that you will get
a well built home,
but here are a few
more.
- Will
I be able to view
my home while
it is under construction?
You may schedule
walk-throughs
with us while
your home is under
construction to
check on the progress
and have questions
answered. More
importantly, we
will have a final
walk-through and
orientation when
your home is finished.
It is our policy
that all cosmetic
defects and known
warranty items
be repaired to
your satisfaction
before we close
and hand you your
new keys. It is
Lindale Homes’
policy that homebuyers
and the general
public are to
stay clear of
construction sites,
as there are many
hazards that could
cause serious
bodily injury
or even death.
- Can
I buy a lot from
Lindale Homes
and build my home
later?
The answer to
this is “no.”
If you need to
sell your home
or fulfill a lease
agreement before
you build, consult
our Lindale
Homes Sales Associate
about the possibility
of a contingency
contract to build.
- Can
I buy two or more
adjacent lots
and build my home
in the middle
of them?
The answer to
this is no. Our
subdivision restrictions
prevent it.
- Will
Lindale Homes
build on land
that I own?
Yes; consult our
Lindale
Homes Sales Associate
for additional
information.
- Does
Lindale Homes
offer financing?
We do not finance
ourselves, but
we have many friends
who do. Check
out our Mortgage
Lender partners.
- Will
I need interim
financing (or
a “construction
loan”) to
build my new home
with Lindale Homes?
No. You will only
need a permanent
mortgage loan
when the home
is finished and
a prequalification
letter from your
lender before
we get started.
- What
does it take to
get started building
a new home?
That is explained
in the first couple
of steps of our
10
Steps to Building
Your Home.
